Drillmec International, a MEIL Group company, has successfully manufactured and delivered the NG-1500-7 land rig to Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC) Rajahmundry Asset as part of ONGC’s 47-rig order under the Make in India initiative.
The rig was inaugurated on 03 July 2026 at well MSDW near Bantumilli by Shri K. Rajendra Babu, ED–CDS (Onshore), in the presence of Shri Hemant Ramlu Mulka, ED & Asset Manager, Rajahmundry, Shri Vinod K. Zile, GGM–HDS, Rajahmundry, senior ONGC representatives, and Drillmec officials.
Built to meet India’s onshore drilling requirements, the NG-1500-7 exemplifies Drillmec’s indigenous manufacturing capability and commitment to national energy security.
This delivery is a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between Drillmec and ONGC, reinforcing domestic supply chains and contributing to India’s goal of greater energy self-reliance.
With each rig added to ONGC’s fleet, Drillmec strengthens the country’s drilling capacity and supports sustained domestic hydrocarbon production.
